Pro-West & Associates, Inc. (PWA) has been providing highly specialized GIS consulting and data management services to regional and national clients since its founding as a partnership in 1987.  PWA is one of the Upper Midwest’s longest-established private firms devoted to assisting public and private entities with the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology.  We have been an Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) business partner since 1990, and are Minnesota’s most senior dealer of ESRI desktop GIS software products.  Our current staff is comprised of Consultants, Programmers, and Technicians many of whom are certified GIS professionals (GISP’s).

Our current clientele consist of local, state and federal agencies, and private industries, some of whom have had a business relationship with us for over two decades.  A few of the services that we offer our clients include; GIS technical advising and consulting, customized programming, data development and conversion, geodatabase and database design, mobile GIS applications, GPS field data collection, GIS software training and support, and natural resource consulting.

We have extensive GIS software and hardware infrastructures in place to support the development, testing and deployment of projects of any scale, allowing us to provide efficient and cost effective solutions to our clients.  PWA provides skilled technical and programming staff that have the capacity to work remotely and/or on-site and experienced management personnel to ensure successful projects.  Our GIS services and solutions are tailored to fit our client’s business needs for integration into each organization’s workflow.

PWA's Mission PWA’s primary purpose is to integrate GIS into clients’ business processes.  This assistance can take many forms including technical advising, conversion of paper maps to digital data, customized computer programming, software training and support, aerial photography and photography interpretation, and GIS design.  The goal for each client is increased efficiency and productivity by integrating technology and information, adding location information to existing data, and encouraging interdepartmental cooperation to collect, share and use data, software and hardware.
