US Sen. Amy Klobuchar visited Pro-West & Associates, Inc. to congratulate the business on its award for 2013 National Small Business Subcontractor of the Year and to learn more about what it does.
Sen. Klobuchar, who also made stops in Sebeka and Fergus Falls earlier in the day as part of a tour through central and northern Minnesota, spent an hour at Pro-West, where she met most of its employees.
Sen. Klobuchar commented: “This is a great example of a business that started small and grew, and really met the needs of its customers. What is so unique ... is this is a high-tech business that has developed a product that a lot of people don’t even know how to do in Chicago — and that’s why they’re doing it for Chicago,” she said after her visit. “So I think we need to promote more of these small businesses in the interests of our economy, make sure they are getting the tools that they need so they can keep growing and keep jobs up here. We have a lot of jobs concentrated in certain areas of this country and we’d like to be able to have kids grow up in Walker and stay Walker.”
