Pro-West’s Road to UC

The Esri UC kicks off tomorrow! This is a chance for everyone attending to learn about the great ways GIS is impacting our communities and how WE are a part of it. I’m very pleased to be returning to the UC again this year and learning what’s in store for all of us here at Pro-West & Associates and for YOU!

So, what interests Pro-West about the UC this year?

This may not be a fair question, because EVERYTHING at the UC excites us. But because there isn’t enough time to do everything, I will be checking out sessions in some of the topics below so that Pro-West can help its clients better understand ArcGIS solutions and implementation in local, state and federal government, utilities, and mining and agriculture…

  • ArcGIS Online
    • Solutions for local government, public works, and land records
    • Security, compliance, and authentication
    • Mobile applications and field data collection
    • Open data and the ArcGIS Marketplace
  • ArcGIS Pro
    • Enterprise deployment and project collaboration
    • Data management and geoprocessing workflows
    • Imagery capabilities and Lidar visualization

How to maximize your conference experience

Last year, I had the opportunity to work with Esri’s UC Student Assistantship Program through my graduate program, during which time I made some discoveries that may make your experience even better.

Take advantage of hotel registration locations. A quick and simple way to pick up your UC badge, especially if it’s at the hotel you’re staying.

Get your Esri apparel and other merchandise right away! Last year, several popular items were out of stock within the first three days of the conference, and Esri doesn’t sell much apparel anywhere but the UC.esriuc

Find the collectible buttons early. The bins containing these collectibles are well hidden, so stay alert. Take an extra to trade with someone for a button you might miss.

Attend The Road Ahead sessions to learn what’s coming in the technologies that relate to your particular area of interests.

Tell us about your experience at the UC by tweeting us here or sending me an email. See you in San Diego!
